The Resonance Engine

The Resonance Engine is a tabletop RPG system using a d12 where the dice rolls themselves influence the game's flow.

Rolling low might just fail, but rolling a natural 11, while a failure, grants players a 'Momentum' point to use later. Conversely, a natural 12 succeeds but can cost Momentum. Both these rolls also shift the game's 'Entropy' level, subtly adjusting overall difficulty.

It's a system focused on managing resources gained from setbacks and dealing with the consequences of critical successes, built on straightforward character Professions and Skills.
