A downloadable game

In this fully bookmarked 72-page book, you'll discover a variety of travel challenges. Each page offers 20 challenges for your journey. Here's what each challenge will provide:

  1. A specified context and role.
  2. A description of the challenge.
  3. An attribute that gets tested.
  4. A consequence to guide your decision-making and influence gameplay.

To select a random challenge, roll two dice: a six-sided (d6) and a twelve-sided (d12). The combination will point to the specific page to consult.

Example of play

Your characters (PCs) are adventuring in the wild and you roll a 2 on the d6 and a 12 on the d12, you'll refer to page 2:12. Let's say on this page, the challenge affects the "Hunter" role. Depending on your game's setting, you can pick a fitting challenge:

  • If they're in a forest: A hidden trap awaits the hunter. They must use Dexterity to evade, or they might get injured or trapped.
  • In autumn? Hunting becomes tricky as prey migrate. The hunter needs strong Willpower to locate any game.
  • Encountering dragons? A dragon flying overhead might scare the group, causing them to flee and abandon their meal.

Choose the challenges that best suit your adventure's narrative and enjoy the journey!

There are 6 specific roles that characters can take on. These roles include the Guide, who leads the way; the Hunter, responsible for gathering food; the Scout, who looks ahead for danger or opportunities; the Camp role, which involves setting up and maintaining the campsite; the Cook, who prepares meals; and the Healer, who takes care of any injuries or illnesses.

Such an interesting concept! And, what's more, you used Scribus to produce it! Pure awesomeness. 👍
(You might want to set the PDF metadata in the document properties before exporting, such as the author, the title, and stuff.)

Thank you, this is just time for the annual trip over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house!

Indeed! Be careful and remember to roll 1d6 and 1d12 and consult the tables!
